Fuel oil separators encountering problems may show signs such as:

1. Poor Separation: If the oil from the engine contains gas bubbles or excessive air content, it indicates a failure in separation. Examine for leaks between the tank and delivery line by checking the filter cover. A lack of oil or slow level decline may suggest a leak. Afterward, inspect the separator itself.

2. Excess Discharge: Oil spraying from the exhaust can result from a higher oil level in the tanker compared to the separator. Ensure the storage tank is either a high-level or split-level design, as this can cause vent line obstructions. Focus on the separator for underground tanks.
